First and foremost, After being a 20 year AE customer, and dozens of pairs f shoes, I am truly saddened to even have to write this e-mail. Placed an order with AE on Monday of memorial day weekend to take advantage of a great sale. My bank protection called to verify the purchase with Shazam to to the amount. I cleared it with them immediately, and they said it was cleared. After watching for debit on my checking account, i didn't see anything yet by Wednesday. I sent an e-mail strait away, but had difficulty calling do to restricted hours. I then got through via telephone on June 1, 2020. I was simply told sorry, it was an internet promotion and there's NOTHING WE CAN DO !, and they would not give me the sale price. In 25 years in business I have NEVER Have said that to a customer! Even with sub-contractor work and product, that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH US, we've always worked our customers to make them whole. I'm honestly shocked to find myself in the shoes of many on this review site, the victim of ridiculously, pathetically, poor customer service. I'm not trying to get something for free here, I'm just trying to get the price I originally ordered at. While they did offer my veterans discount, it still wasn't close to the sale. How sad. Shame on you Allen Edmonds.
Sincerely,
Michael F. Prange
One of the best shoes on the market today! Wearing these wonderful shoes for over 15 years! Quality is excellent.

Extremely poor communication. Even in a pandemic they should be able to send an order confirmation and shipping information.
Each time I have ordered from Allen Edmunds I have never received an email confirmation or communication of any type. I have to chase down the order and delivery information. This is extremely poor customer service from an otherwise stellar company.
The estimated delivery date for my order has passed, and my order seems to have disappeared. The last update was two days ago. This is a USPS problem, but my frustration is compounded by the almost complete lack of communication from Allen Edmunds.
Terrible quality control. Bought one pair, tongue was too wide, creating a huge dent in the top of the boot. returned them, got a second pair, exact same defect. Somebody in your factory doesn't know what they're doing and it's costing you sales and goodwill. Won't try again, learned my lesson about online boot sales.
Unsatisfied with recent decrease of quality.
I own over 100 pair of Allen Edmonds. Inventories I have collected during over 30 years of being a loyal customer. It makes me so sad to have to look for other brands due to the dramatic decrease in quality. Just in the last six months I purchased over 25 pair from Nordstrom, lord and Taylor, Allen Edmonds stores and directly from their website. It’s unbelievable how many issue these shoes have now but even more unbelievable is Allen Edmonds horrific response to issues. They simply DO NOT CARE. Horrible craftsmanship lately. I had to send back shoes and at times I got stuck with defective shoes bc they simply refused to take them back without the $25 restocking fee. Most recently a got a pair of strands. They seem normal and for once I thought I got lucky. After wearing them like three times the leather in the front of both shoes ripped across the entire shoe; you can clearly see that this was factory issue and they concealed it with heavy coating and finish. After practically begging they allowed me to send them back for repair. They sprayed them with a darker finish and completely changed the color of the shoe and did not fix the ripped part. The shoes are basically going into the trash. The worst part, Allen Edmonds customer service simply do not care. They just lost a great customer. I’ll make sure I preach to everyone I know what a trash of a company AE has become.
Have been happy in the past with their shoes, such as the Dalton Boots the Hamilton Cap Toe dress boots, however, my wife bought me a bag a couple Christmases ago and I inquired as to how to fix it. They basically said it's too old and wouldn't even give me the info. for the people who make it, or offer a repair place - I think it may be due to their stated "Made in America" products being made in the Dominican Republic.
When I spend $600.00 on a bag, I would hope for them to stand behind their products-especially those that have their name on them. The lady said that they don't make the bags so they can't warranty or offer any solutions. She then offered a measly 20% coupon for a bag that will probably break again.
This was an opportunity to have a life-long customer, and they did the opposite. I will be looking for a better quality company to buy my products from.
I ordered a 750 dollar pair of Cordovan boots and they arrived with ‘second quality’ stitching on the heel, the leather was scuffed, there was excess glue all over the leather, and the leather cuts were very uneven and/or look like they were made with a butter knife. Shame on you, Allen Edmonds! It’s sad to see how far you’ve fallen...
I ordered a pair of boots based on the fact they were in stock. Two weeks later and my order now states that the item is out of stock. $400 and now I have to wait two months for either the boots or my refund. I believe this is a very shady business practice of overselling items and then refunding to promptly refund the customer. Now my money is out of my account and in their hands. If I had known I would have never ordered. You cannot talk to someone in person and if you email you can expect a 16 day wait for a response.
I worked with a Nathan Beck. I walked in on a very slow Thursday afternoon. Nate came out from the back and immediately turned on the 5 star customer service for me. Initially there to “window shop” I ended up spending over $800. Not because I needed to, but because I wanted to. He took the time to measure my foot perfectly and brought out two different shoes for me to try on. It was the willingness to help that went a long way in my book. I recommend going to see Nathan at Allen Edmonds in downtown Minneapolis.
There are a lot dumb a***s on here complaining about shipping and support like we are not in the middle of a pandemic. Come on people?? Every store in America has delays, I have come to accept the fact that most things will take a week. I suggest people stop paying expedited like fools and do normal shipping. Also, if FedEx doesn't deliver your package it's FedEx fault not Allen Edmonds, it's FedEx job to deliver your package to the correct address and FedEx support is terrible. Allen Edmonds shoes are great quality as usual and I will still shop there. Please do not Listen to these 1 star reviews, I suggest you try them yourself and expect delivery delays until covid is over.
This company is terrible and I see people had similar experiences I did .
Had a terrible experience with them and an order snafu that happened in December. Long story short, I was a big fan of them and ordered shoes from them in the past. Ordered a pair during their 50% off sale in December, the order never shipped and I was still charged.
Customer service reps had an attitude, took well over a month to get a refund and I had to involve the Better Business Bureau.
Shoes delivered, fit well and well made, however there is no customer service, every email gets a generic reply saying will be in touch in 12 to 16 days, generic email after 16 days to say someone will be in touch, already had the shoes so this was useless.
They were great to me - a little slow to ship. You read these low rated reviews - can these a-holes say PANDEMIC? I guess these are the same people that refuse to wear masks and start fights with sales people over it. Some people just love to complain!
I bought the circle Ave belt in black. It's gorgeous and looks like it will hold up for many years to come. Just size up. It really runs small. Not sure it's worth full price, but for $30 it's a great deal.
